Where our information comes from

Four tiers, in a fixed order. When two tiers disagree, the higher one wins — including when the lower one suits us better.

1Our own model and its record

The probabilities, the confidence measure, and every earlier version of an assessment. It is the one source that is ours, and it is stored in a form that cannot be edited.

2Official sources

Leagues, clubs and federations. When a club publishes a line-up or an absence, that outranks any other report.

3Licensed professional feeds

Fixtures, results, player data and market prices. Used where there is no official publication, and stamped with when they were refreshed.

4Established sports journalism

For squad news and analyst opinion, always carrying the outlet's name and the publication date. A press report never outranks an official publication — when the club publishes, the official source wins.

What never counts

Anonymous tipster sites, aggregators without attribution, and screenshots without a source. A fact that cannot be traced back to a publisher does not reach a match page.

Every number carries a date

A match page shows when its information and its assessment were last updated. We do not refresh a timestamp to look current: it moves only when something actually changed.
